AmeriCorps Youth Volunteers Preparing Carter Plaza For Complete $1.5M Renovation
As part of its ongoing committment to community development and neighborhood improvement, MBIE is currently in the process of transforming the large, white building located at the corner of Hedges St. and E. 2nd St. in downtown Mansfield, and an ambitious group of young workers from AmeriCorps's National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is helping to make that happen. The building will be completely remodeled to host a variety of community action services including MBIE's "Yes, We Can!" Senior Citizens Center and a full scale licensed commercial kitchen that can be used by small food businesses as an incubator. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Please check back here soon for more information and updates. If you would like to show your support of this project with a financial contribution, please visit our donations page or call our main office.
